Description

Keeps a loaf fresh for days, without plastic. Plastic traps moisture, so the crust goes soft and mold arrives sooner. Paper lets bread dry out in a day or two. The Beeswax Bread Bag breathes: excess moisture escapes, while the beeswax lining keeps the crumb from drying out.

  • Crisp crust, soft crumb – the balance plastic and paper can't give you
  • Plastic-free – 100% cotton outer bag with a natural beeswax-coated cotton lining
  • Fits a large loaf – 12.4 × 16.7 in (31.5 × 42.5 cm), roll the top and clip it closed
  • Made to be used daily – lasts 1–2 years with normal use

How to use it

  1. Let fresh bread cool for at least an hour.
  2. Place the loaf in the bag, cut side down.
  3. Roll the top down loosely and clip it shut.
  4. Keep it on the counter or in the pantry – not in the fridge.

Care

Shake out crumbs after use and wipe the lining with a cool, damp cloth. Avoid hot water and the dishwasher, which melt the wax. Refresh the lining with our ReWax Bar when it starts to feel dry.

Half the loaf ends up in the trash

Half the loaf ends up in the trash

In a plastic bag, moisture gets trapped. Condensation forms, the crust turns rubbery and mold shows up sooner. In paper, the loaf is dry by day two.

The Beeswax Bread Bag breathes. It lets the extra moisture out but keeps the bread from drying, so the crust stays crisp and the inside stays soft.

  • No condensationMoisture escapes instead of soaking the crust.

How it works

Three steps to better bread

  1. Let it cool 1

    Let it cool

Warm bread creates condensation. Give a fresh loaf at least an hour.

Room temperature is best. The fridge makes bread go stale faster.

How bread was kept before plastic
An old baker's trick

How bread was kept before plastic

Long before the plastic bag, bakers wrapped their loaves in waxed cloth. The fabric breathes, the wax holds on to just enough moisture, and the crust keeps its crackle.

Our bag is the same simple idea, made for everyday kitchens: soft cotton outside, natural beeswax inside.

  • Natural beeswax liningHolds just enough moisture so the crumb stays soft.
  • Breathable cottonLets excess moisture out, so no soggy crust.
  • Plastic-freeNothing synthetic touches your bread.
For everything that likes to breathe
More than bread

For everything that likes to breathe

Sourdough and sandwich loaves, rolls and bagels, cookies, a wedge of cheese, fresh herbs. If it goes soggy in plastic, it belongs in beeswax.

  • Loaves, rolls & bagelsFits a large loaf or a batch of rolls.
  • Cheese & herbsWrap a wedge or a bunch and keep them fresh.

Contact us
How much longer does bread stay fresh?

It depends on the loaf and your kitchen, but the difference shows from day two: the crust stays crisp and the crumb stays soft, instead of going rubbery in plastic or dry in paper.

Will my bread go moldy?

The bag lets excess moisture escape, and trapped moisture is what speeds up mold. Always let fresh bread cool completely before you bag it.

How big is the bag?

12.4 × 16.7 in (31.5 × 42.5 cm). It fits a large sourdough loaf, a baguette cut in half, or a batch of rolls.

How do I clean it?

Shake out the crumbs and wipe the lining with a cool, damp cloth. Skip hot water and the dishwasher, since heat melts the wax.

How long does it last?

1–2 years with normal daily use. When the lining starts to feel dry, refresh it with a ReWax Refresh Bar.

How do the bundle prices work?

Pick 2 or 3 bags in the bundle selector on the product page. The bundle price is shown there and applied automatically in your cart.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping is free to the US and the UK, with tracking. Orders are delivered within 3–5 business days.

Can I return it?

Yes. You have 30 days from delivery. See our refund policy.
